Scientific Advisory Board

Clifford Woolf MD, PhD,
Co-Founder & Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board

Dr. Woolf's research into the molecular mechanisms of pain has led to numerous scientific breakthroughs, including the identification of the role of "central sensitization" in neuropathic pain. Dr Woolf was the first to discover the involvement of NGF in inflammatory pain His recent work identifying the role of GCH1 in human neuropathic pain is one of the core programs being developed at Solace Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Woolf is currently the Richard Kitz Chair of Anesthesia Research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition to publishing over 250 scientific articles, Dr. Woolf is an esteemed consultant to numerous large pharmaceutical companies.
